EARLY INTERVENTION SPECIALIST

STATUS: Non-exempt

COMPENSATION: $26-$32/hour plus incentive, Benefits, Generous time off, Mileage reimbursement, flexible schedule

REPORTS TO: Program Manager

SYNOPSIS OF DUTIES:

Provides developmentally based early intervention services primarily in home and/or community settings, to infants and toddlers who are demonstrating a developmental delay or are at risk for a developmental delay.

RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following:

1) Provide regularly scheduled one-to-one “home” visits, as indicated by the IFSP.

2) Establish developmentally appropriate goals and objectives and produce reports in required format.

3) Establish specific activity suggestions for parents and care-providers.

4) Provide case coordination, as appropriate.

5) Provide assessments using appropriate tools and means;

6) Maintain client records, case files and generate required reports in an established time frame.

7) Mandatory attendance of monthly supervision meetings, and all in-service training.

8) Support client families with community outings, as appropriate.

9) Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

1) Bachelors degree in Human Service or related health field, or licensed professional.

2) At least two years of experience with young children, preferably with special needs.

3) Broad based knowledge of development

4) Broad based knowledge of early intervention strategies.

5) Excellent time management and organizational skills.

6) Knowledge of community resources.

7) Ability to communicate effectively: through both oral and written means.

8) Ability to use computers and cloud-based applications effectively.

9) Ability to consistently demonstrate good judgment and decision making skills.

10) Ability to exercise discretion and confidentiality pertaining to the work environment.

11) Ability to remain flexible in the context of shifting/changing priorities.

Fingerprint and DMV clearance required. Ability to travel locally (within Sonoma County); must have reliable transportation appropriate for the job, proof of auto insurance as appropriate and proof of valid California driver’s license. Evidence of any and all health and safety training and/or credentials and certifications required by law or licensing.
